Connecticut’s location is your competitive advantage. Locating in the heart of the Northeast’s business corridor will give you access to major markets, financial centers and thousands of suppliers and partners.  A robust set of Interstate highways make both Boston and New York accessible within two hours from most points in the State.  And within 500 miles of the State you will find 32% of the US population and 67% of the Canadian population. Connecticut is known as the "corporate headquarters" for several Fortune 500 companies including Travelers Insurance, Pfizer’s Global Research and Development, Northeast Utilities, General Dynamics Electric Boat Division and ESPN.  In Connecticut your business can go global.  Within easy reach from anywhere in Connecticut are Bradley International Airport, Ports of New London, New Haven and Bridgeport, as well as the rail systems of Metro North Railroad and Amtrak.  Also within an hour of Downtown Norwich is Rhode Island’s T.F. Green International Airport as well as the passenger and auto ferries to Long Island, Fishers Island and Martha’s Vineyard all originating from New London, CT.

Though famed for its rural loveliness, Connecticut derives most of its wealth from industry. The state's principal industries include production of jet engines and parts, electronics and electrical machinery, and defense related industries; Groton in Southeastern segment of the State remains a center for submarine building.  A number of non-manufacturing industries also thrive in the state.  Though accounting for only a small share of the State income, Agriculture thrives; dairy products, eggs, vegetables, tobacco, and apples are the leading farm items. Fishing is another of the States many business sectors; many varieties of fish, as well as oysters, lobsters, and other shellfish, are caught in Long Island Sound and are distributed nationally. Connecticut not only boasts the most educated work force and the highest median family income in the country; it is one of the best locations to work.  It boasts a quality of life second to none.

Connecticut is home to vibrant high tech industries including bioscience, aerospace, medical technology, and defense.  Connecticut is home to many of the leading insurance companies and the state’s financial service sector is known for its overall excellence.  Its workforce is ranked near the top in productivity and education with 13% of the adult workforce holding advanced degrees.
